In fact according to the U.S. national climate data center. (NOAA/NCDC ) the worlds average combined land/sea surface temperature has been between 58.39F & 58.01F every year since 1997 with the exception of the 2 cooler years 1999 & 2000 which were 57.9F & 57.92F .

Lots of people were fooled by Al Gore's propaganda film "An Inconvenient Truth" but the fact is, the film was just one long continuous lie from beginning to end.
It was full of bald faced lies. Like the Polar Bears were drowning, or the Ice Caps were melting, or the oceans were rising --- all lies. In fact a court of England ruled the movie was so flawed that it could not be shown to school children without a disclaimer.
Not a single scientist of any kind appeared in the movie, just Al Gore the politician and 'inventor of the Internet', the guy that nearly failed Earth Science during his school days.

If you're referring to "An Inconvenient Truth", then yes but not because of that movie. More because weather is getting to be a bit crazy and the science is starting to make sense to more people.
It definitely had a effect. But the main effect seems to have been a polarization, creating camps of true believers and vitriolic opponents. It was a political (not scientific) movie and did what all politicians today seem to be doing; causing people to focus on disagreements and not attempting to find common ground.
