But lets try to rescue the question and ask "would you eat laboratory produced meat?" Since I am not a vegetarian, my answer would be "probably, providing it is not human flesh."

So while it is obvious what kind of person Sagebrush is, if we were to use his "logic" [3] it would make ALL deniers, genocidal, Nazi loving, justice, equality and sustainability hating, religious extremists. Although it would not be unreasonable to assume that his fans [4] are, since they actively chose to become a fan.
An EPA report suggested that farms with X number of cows could be charged a fee for large numbers. However this is appears to be a gross over simplification by scare mongers. With the EPA repeately saying no such tax is stipulated in the report and that the EPA simply provides ideas for government to consider, and has no position itself.
In any circumstance Congress has moved to block any opportunities for any such taxes to be introduced.
Also considering the USA government provides huge subsidies for the agricultural industry in the USA (why meat is so cheap in the country) it would be counter intuitive to subsidies them on one front and then tax them on another (a better solution would be to offer great subsidies for those that have "best practices").
Handled intelligently, methane reduction on cattle farms could be a source of *income*, or at least reduced costs. A lot of the methane from raising cattle is from their manure. Stick that manure in a methane digester, capture the resulting gas, and burn it instead of mined natural gas, and everybody wins.
And, while the idea of "celebrity sausage" is obviously more a publicity stunt than anything else, the concept of lab-grown meat (often referred to as vat-grown, as once the process is scaled up it will likely be in something like industrial vats) potentially removes a lot of the environmental *and* ethical questions of meat. No more factory farms with animals crowded together in inhumane conditions. No more questions about whether animals are being slaughtered humanely. No more antibiotic resistance from animals that get sick because they're kept too close together for too long. Just nice, clean meat from a nice, clean factory, with no actual animals involved.
Plus, you could eat things that would be difficult or unethical to raise as meat animals. Ever want giraffe burgers, or a nice lion pot roast? Maybe some wooly mammoth? Want to eat bluefin tuna without contributing to their impending extinction? Want to see what dolphin tastes like, without committing possible sophiophagy?
Maybe the EPA could hook up cows rear ends to run their
buildings?

The cost of beef and other meat has already soared and an EPA mandate that cattle farmers install extremely expensive equipment to scrub cow farts out of the air will only make meat prices skyrocket further would the AGW cultists and animal rights advocates rally behind this alternative source for meat?
