Can anyone genetically change the rate of growth for trees to slow down global warming?

To slow down global warming? No. Trees die and the carbon dioxide which they absorb is returned to the atmosphere, some in the form of methane.

Aging faster =/= growing faster. Growth happens when new cells are made faster than they die. Aging happens when cells die faster than they are replaced. They are actually opposite processes.

I would strongly caution against making modification to the genetic structure of anything.

Consider. The reason that we have DNA and the coding seen within DNA is from about 3 billion years of evolution. 3 billion years of genetic mistakes that natural selection found to be beneficial.

If you attempt to write a code by randomly typing on the keyboard, it would take you a very large amount of time to actually come up with a code that was useful. With thought, however, you could do this relatively quickly.

When we introduce code to the DNA of species, we are potentially advancing their evolution by millions of years. We do not want to be competing against lifeforms that are millions of years more advanced than we are.

That would take many years of research and I don't think it would be happening any time soon if it would happen, and I think the medical condition you're referring to is Progeria where the Farnesyl group remains attached to prelamin A. Normal form is called lamin A. Abnormal form of prelamin A is called progerin.

It's very hard to change genes even when your just an embryo and I don't think genetic science has reached that point yet

Yeah but only few tree species. There are much better solutions like planting more trees that produce more oxygen.

I once saw a young child looking older than he's suppose to be , due to a disease that ages a person . Apparently it has something to do with the genes , which caused him to age faster. I wonder if the same kind of gene could be used to grow trees faster to slow down the global warming?
