When we go into another ice age will the USA and Europe invade warm weather countries?

Because they got all the cool weapons. how many equatorial nations have a massive military?

Talk of entering into another ice age is idiotic nonsense from monumentally stupid people who don’t have even the slightest comprehension of anything relating to climatic or meteorological matters. Ignore these people, they’re as irrational as those who tell us the world is governed by reptiles.

We are not heading into another ice age any time soon, there is no possible mechanism that could allow this to happen save for events of global climatic disruption such as a massive asteroid impact, protoplanet impact or the temporary cooling associated with a nuclear or volcanic winter.

Periods of glaciation, often incorrectly referred to as ice-ages, are consequent to changes in the shape of Earth’s orbit around the Sun. This is a cyclical event with a 95,000 year periodicity. We are currently in the warm part of such a cycle having seen the end of the last ice-age just 12,000 years ago. It will be nearly 70,000 years before we reach the maximum cooling of the next ice-age.

True ice-ages are something different altogether and are linked to the orbit of the solar system around the galactic centre. Technically we’re in an ice-age now because there are parts of the planet that are permanently frozen and have been for the last 20 million years or so. The peak of the cooling will occur in about 50 million years time at which point the entire planet, save foe the Equatorial regions, will be frozen. The magnitude of warming/cooling is incredible small at about a 1°C change every two million years.

Despite being on the road toward another period of glaciation, the recent warming has cancelled out all the natural cooling that has occurred since the end of the last ice-age. Today temperatures are higher than at any time since at least the last but one glaciation. At this rate there will be no further ‘ice-ages’.

Should it happen that the climate is stabilised and returns to within natural parameters, and humanity survives for many thousands of years to come, then many people in northern Europe and North America will be forced to migrate southwards as the next glaciation advances. Most of Canada and the northern states of the US, together with all of Scandinavia and much of Europe north of London and Moscow will be buried under ice that in places will exceed a depth of 1000m.

On the plus side, much of the seas and oceans will be locked-up in the ice and global sea-levels will drop by about 60 metres, this will create millions of km2 of new land, which presumably the displaced people would have to occupy.

Because the process happens over millennia I would expect that the migration would be a very slow one with just a few million people having to migrate each year. Considering that tens of millions already migrate each year then it’s not going to have a massive impact over short periods of time.

If it happens rapidly then yes it is possible. But NOT just the US and Europe. Also Russia and China. All global populations/nations inside the new expanded arctic regions would mass migrate into warmer regions. This would be unavoidable.

Over time as the glaciers grow and oceans recede, more land would become available as well.

Yes after the so called climatologists get their way and pump more sulfuric acid into the atmosphere by creating volcanic eruptions to cool the Earth.

This will backfire and tip us into runaway global cooling. All global warming/ global cooling denier climatologists will be sent to the Russian Gulags in Siberia with no heat except what they can get from so called green energy and no fire/ combustibles.

since when does the USA need an excuse?

the next ice age is several thousand years in the future. I doubt the USA will exist.

I get it. "Ice age." "cool weapons"

Very amusing.

I sure hope not.
