Is global warming responsible for the unrest in the middle east?

Saying it's a cause for terrorism is a bit big of a leap in logic but the food prices had been rising for some time in the middle east and it was suggested that the civil unrest in Egypt and Turkey might've been related to it in the discontent of the public. Of course, that would not necessarily mean terrorism but it would mean more willingness to accept fringe political groups which tend to have fundamentalist religious grass roots and in that part of the world, this would often mean links to terrorist activities. You are misportraying the concepts if you imply this is part of an ongoing conspiracy to blame everything on global warming. Of course, misportrayal and misinterpretations are obviously your forte.

The linked-to blog piece, a rather crude copy of what Tom Friedman was saying years ago, has almost nothing to do with the silly attempted deception of the question.

Blog: "There is some validity to the claim that climate change does cause societal fluctuations which :include war and conquest. Whether that is true in this case remains to be seen, but it is food for thought."

Question: "Some scientists agree that global warming is the cause of terrorism."

Do we "agree" [that this question is utterly bogus and lame]?

Yes, I do.

No. History shows that area has been like that since long before cars were invented.

Well, many of the Arabs and Persians can not afford air conditioning.

That would make me mad at someone.

Is the unrest in the middle east caused because people in America like to drive big cars? Would lower co2 emissions cause more peace on the planet? Some scientists agree that global warming is the cause of terrorism. Do you agree?
