How many climate change predictions have come true.?

Posted at: 2015-03-12
Articles on catastrophic climate change tend to use a familiar form like the following:

'Top scientists from (insert organisation here) now believe that (insert catastrophy here) could happen much sooner than previously thought. In this case in 2007 top scientists from Nasa believed that the Arctic could be ice free by 2012.

It's just too bad there aren't any bookmakers who take these top scientists seriously and will let you put a bet on whether or not these predictions will come true.

With all the climate conversation currently littering the Internet, and the myriad ways that extreme weather is linked to global warming, it’s hard not to get confused about climate change sometimes – and given the sheer volume of muddled information out there, you might even be forgiven for being unconvinced by the arguments thus far. But University of Exeter scientists have brought us some simple proof that climate change seems to be as bad for our planet as we’ve been led to believe. Their study shows that the loss of animal and plant species that have already happened match previous predictions in terms of the relative risk to different species around the world. And based on that information, the scientists have made a frightening forecast: one in 10 species will be extinct by 2100 if climate change continues affecting the world the way it is now.

“Our study is a wake-up call for action,” lead author Ilya Maclean said in a statement. “The many species that are already declining could become extinct if things continue as they are. It is time to stop using the uncertainties as an excuse for not acting.”

Quote by Noel Brown, UN official: "Entire nations could be wiped off the face of the Earth by rising sea levels if the global warming trend is not reversed by the year 2000. Coastal flooding and crop failures would create an exodus of "eco-refugees," threatening political chaos."

Life magazine of January 3, 1970, stated: “Scientists have solid experimental and theoretical evidence to support . . . predictions” such as: “In a decade, urban dwellers will have to wear gas masks to survive air pollution,” and “increased carbon dioxide in the atmosphere will affect earth’s temperature, leading to mass flooding or a new ice age.”

This article claims that the seas will rise due to global warming. May 15, 1950.

Ha! Ha! Just look at CR: He is still using that old worn out lame duck warmest in history bunch of malarkey. It is truly 'recorded history'. That recorded history actually starts around 1987. A little important fact that the Grifter leaves out. So now the reader is deceived into thinking that the earth has never been hotter. That is a falsity. But lies or half truths are what you expect from agenda driven greenies.

How about the prediction that global temperatures would rise. The ten warmest years in the instrumental record are 2010, 2005, 2009, 2007, 2002, 1998, 2006, 2003, 2011 and 2012.

Most of those "predictions" that you mentioned, are either media creations or they haven't happened yet. There is still snow on the ground. Predictions that it will melt have not come true. Therefore, Summer isn't coming and the seasons were invented by alarmunists who want to tax us.

Have come true? None that I know of. Lots that haven't.

Here are three predictions that I guarantee will come true.

1. You will receive a rant from Hey Dook.

2. You will not receive a rational answer.

3. You will be accused of being an agent of "Big Oil" , whatever that is.

Good question.

Its early days yet.

Are you claiming that these things were predicted to have happened by now?

Public hysteria as a result of junk science

At the moment, 47 of them ...

None Criswell has better odds and He his dead .

I cant think of all of them

temperature increase 0.55 degrees per decade

sea level rise

arctic free of ice

melting permafrost and release of Co2/methane

Himalaya glaciers to dissapear

Climate refugees by 2010

Can you think of more
