Is this cold weather the result of global warming? or climate change?

keep in mind that Al Gore said the polar ice caps would all be melted by 2013 and New York City would be under water.

Al was echoing Brown and claimed Manhattan would be under water by 1999.

Quote by Noel Brown, UN official: "Entire nations could be wiped off the face of the Earth by rising sea levels if the global warming trend is not reversed by the year 2000. Coastal flooding and crop failures would create an exodus of "eco-refugees," threatening political chaos."

Ole Al also said that by 2013 or in five years, since he was speaking in 2008, our children would would not know what snow is since it will be gone. This has been documented on this site many times.

Neither. As far as I can recall, it has always gotten cold in winter.

Did Al Gore say that? Did whoever said that say by 2013? When New York is under water, it will be because of warm summers in Greenland and Antarctica, not because of cold weather in New York, which may still happen

If there is anything good about YA's new format, it's that you can no longer hide your questions from those who would actually provide real answers.

Absolutely not. And only denialists like your self claim that anyone believes that.

"This cold weather..." shows that you are very provincial. The nearest city to where I live is 90 degrees right now.

Then "Al Gore said the polar ice caps would all be melted by 2013 and New York City would be under water" shows that you are either a blatant liar, or very stupid.

THIS IS WINTER TIME. Global Warming ended in 2012, confirmed by our Satelite reports 11/28/2012. Al Gore is full of bull as usual, Thats 36 + years ago in 1977. All 4 seasons have returned to normal. Mike

No and yes. Since we've recorded tempetures etc. only since the last 200 years or so it's only short term evidence and In fact we have a general idea that the world has risen and dropped I temperature. So this climate we're experirqting now maybe or may not be part of the long cycle in the earths climate

All Gore never said that the polar ice caps would all be melted by 2013. [1]

Quotes by Sagebrush (who frequently quotes Nazi's to further his cause)

"Execute all those who voted for OBAMA",

"Sustainability is a codeword for communism",

"Hire the handicapped, they are fun to watch"'

"Justice and equality are codewords for communism",

"God has his hand on the thermostat"..

Maybe. It seems to be so but climate scientists tell us we won't know for decades. We do know that the increase in cold winters in the U.S. over the past several years -- and the relative winter heat waves at the same times in Northern Canada and Alaska -- is due to the slowing of the jet stream, and we know that the jet stream is powered by the difference in temperature between the Arctic and the lower latitudes, and we know that global warming as caused the Arctic to warm, and so it is a hypothesis that is growing in acceptance that global warming is indeed causing these cold Arctic storms to dive deeper to the south more often.

This is a piece of journalism -- not a scientific paper in itself -- that briefly describes the state of understanding of the link. You can read it if you want, and if you are really interested in your world you can further research the papers and the climatologists mentioned here. But I suspect you won't. Your question sounds like you are an ignorant ranter without enough self esteem to care when you make a fool of yourself, without enough curiosity to pursue science and without enough sense of accountability or self-reliance to educate yourself about the important issues of your day. Perhaps I am wrong, but you come off like an ignorant ranter.

What cold weather? It's hot and dry outside in the middle of january...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Climate

Global warming is climate. "It's cold right now" is weather. Learn the difference...

And even if Al Gore said those things, he's not a climate scientist, and certainly doesn't represent or stand for *all* climate scientists.

Climate cycles.

keep in mind that Al Gore said the polar ice caps would all be melted by 2013 and New York City would be under water.

"New York City would be under water. "

When did Al Gore say that?

In hurricane Sandy, a good part of New York City was under water, but that was not cold weather, that was flooding and ocean surge.

everyone with an open mind who doesn't have a anti-growth agenda, knows man-made global warming is bullshit. The rest of them either know it's bullshit, but continues to push it because of their agenda, or they don't know it's bullshit because they have been indoctrinated into it, and are too stupid to break free of the indoctrination. Truth.

yes GW causes cold

Heating does not cause cooling no matter how boldly or often Climate Cultists tell that lie.

There is no warming of any kind, the planet is cooling and has been for at least 12 years.

Top climate scientists say there is no man-made Global Warming.

Do you specialize in grammatical, scientific, and political ignorance or are you just generally stupid ?
