Why can't it be both?
It is very real. It is absolutely being caused by human activity. It was also already happening naturally since the last ice age. We are making it much worse and much faster. We are approaching the highest levels of CO2 in earth's history, and will likely have the highest global temperatures in earths history within a few hundred years. Even if we stop producing the greenhouse gasses there is already so much in the atmosphere that we will keep warming for hundreds more years. DON'T believe the idiots trying to deny this is happening.
The debate has literally nothing to do with whether it is happening or not, skeptic climate scientists do not "deny" the existence of it by any stretch of the imagination. What they do criticize with great detail ( http://climatechangereconsidered.org/ccr... ) is whether what little warming we've seen over the last 100 or so years is man-caused, and whether the IPCC has conclusively made its case about it.
The ice shield on Greenland has been melting at an alarming rate for the past 20 years. Extensive aerial reconnaissance supports this. I believe that the Earth's atmosphere is going through a warming phase. This is not unusual in of itself. Over the span of millions of years the Earth has experienced thousands of warming and cooling cycles. The sticking point is determining the cause of the current warming trend. Is it nature or man? We may never know definitively.
Global warming, and cooling, is a natural process of the planet.
It is how much effect man has that is debatable, and the cause of the biggest arguments on the matter..
It's all too real. I refer you to Science, the journal of the AAAS, which did a climate change edition last month. One of the articles would be easy for the non-specialist to understand, It compared old landscape photos with current photos of the same site. In each instance, you could see the effects of the warming in the vegetation shown. Timber-lines have been migrating up the mountains.
It might be a hoax for you know what...funds..
A regular changing weather might be natural since the environment is not constant and climate had been changing since we were not around.
