Has anyone heard about the Sagebrush Revolution going on out in Nevada?

Any relation?

Republican Ronald Reagan declared himself a sagebrush rebel in an August 1980 campaign speech in Salt Lake City, telling the crowd, "I happen to be one who cheers and supports the Sagebrush Rebellion. Count me in as a rebel."

I did read something recently where a rancher was trying to enforce his right to graze federal land. I hope it ends well for him/them. We have Wako types in administration now that don't seem to mind too much when citizen's rights get steamrolled.

Yeah this is it: http://www.cnn.com/2014/04/10/us/nevada-...

well that is the followup anyway.

I just found this

I can't vouch for it but if it has a shred of truth to it, Reid should be converted to a solar panel.

Dook, actual conservatives have a lot to rebel against and "voodoo economics" types such as Bush's, Rove's, McCain's, and other establishment Republicans are high on the list.

Hadn't heard of it, but I did follow jim z's link. Perhaps I'm a member of the rebellion, I opposed the first (1994) California Desert Protection Act, and I also oppose the new one that Dianne Feinstein has proposed, and I have written letters to her voicing my opposition.

I was got a copy of the original one from my congressman, and was shocked to learn that THERE WERE NO MAPS IN IT. In other words, nobody had a clue what they were voting on. Why should that surprise me?

I'm not a big fan of wilderness designations, they effectively remove public access from public lands (but still allow the federal government to mess around in there)

From this side of the pond (UK), I am becoming increasingly concerned for my American cousins. Over here we hear rumours of unexpected agencies receiving firearms and huge supplies of ammunition. Then we hear of armed raids against someone who has offended the local enviros. There are stories about US ammunition suppliers closing down. Supplies will only be available from outside the US. Why do they need hollow point (dum-dum) bullets? Those are not for target practice.

Nevada is not alone. Similar events have taken place in California as well.

Maybe this is how open and transparent government works in practice. With a secretive government you don't get to find out what is happening. With an open and transparent one you do get to find out but the downside is that they shoot you if you object!

I wonder why every time a liberal democrat is in power the US government sends heavily armed combat ready military trained federal agents after its own citizens.

I shouldn't comment being in the Philippines, but I detest power hungry, beaurocratic government agencies.

This is your militia fantasy? Good luck with that you deluded fool

Wow, 'Geologist Jim' and grapphicconception read Infowars, who would have thought?

PS This whole 'question' should be in YA's Conspiracy Theories section.

I never heard of Ronald Raygun or Death Valley Knights, John Lenin is meeting me next week for drinks at the Dakota to talk VooDoo Economics, and how could a "true scientist" and "conservative" "rebel" against a cutting-off of taxpayer-funded gravy trains?
