Does anybody in the UK remember being taught that during the Roman occupation that red grapes were grown in...?

There are still streets in London that are named after the wineries that operated there in the (supposedly non-existent) MWP.

The wine grapes don't grow there, anymore, either.

Between the wars and shortly after grapes were grown in Yorkshire and all over the south. In fact English table wine was quite readily available. Then the winters started getting warmer and the summers cooler hindering the ripening of grapes. The reverse is now happening and it will eventually complete its cycle. This is a naturall phenomena caused by the sun about every hundred years. Some bright spark said it was due to global warming so they changed the gas in asthma sprays so that it tastes like sh*t. Nobody gives a f**k about all those poor people wheezing away as long as the hole in the ozone layer doesn't get any bigger even though the fu**ing keeps moving around so that a lot of other aresholes spend millions trying to look through it. What d'you think they are looking for - another hole, a hole's a hole for f*cks sake, leave it alone. And what about the gas in fridges, why did they change that, it won't doing any harm. We've got a fridge in are back garden that we use for a den and the gas hasn't done any harm even though I've tried to set it on fire and everything. I think I'll knock a nail in the gas part and let it out and poor tosh who's got asthma can stick his head in the fridge and sniff it all up - see what it does to his hole.

I heard that too. In fact, someone brought that up earlier on this site.

But, perhaps you were asleep when someone explained that playing with matches CAN start fires EVEN if fires are ALSO started by lightning. Not too late to learn what anti-science deceivers want you to not know.

U.S. National Academy of Sciences, 2010:

“Climate change is occurring, is caused largely by human activities, and poses significant risks for a broad range of human and natural systems.”

http://www8.nationalacademies.org/onpine...

“Choices made now about carbon dioxide emissions reductions will affect climate change impacts experienced not just over the next few decades but also in coming centuries and millennia…Because CO2 in the atmosphere is long lived, it can effectively lock the Earth and future generations into a range of impacts, some of which could become very severe.”

“The Academy membership is composed of approximately 2,100 members and 380 foreign associates, of whom nearly 200 have won Nobel Prizes. Members and foreign associates of the Academy are elected in recognition of their distinguished and continuing achievements in original research; election to the Academy is considered one of the highest honors that can be accorded a scientist or engineer.”

Yorkshire.

This would suggest that perhaps global temperatures were a little warmer than they are now.

I was at school during the 60s and 70s and remember the "Plant a Tree in 73" campaign.
