A) the problem was fixed, in which case you need do nothing
B) the problem wasn't fixed, and there are no more chances to fix the problem and you need do nothing
or C) Your idol was wrong
No here you are thinking that there is a big problem again, and no more chances to fix the problem.
Michael had a history of fixing things that weren't broke in the first place. He turned a good looking kid (himself) into a freak. I am afraid that too much meddling by the do gooders with the planet may have similar results. You are right. This planet is a wonderful thing.
What you should do is start to find out about it. Find out how long it has been here, what it was like a few billion years ago, what the atmosphere must have been like without any Oxygen in it, what it was like without any plants growing.
Think about the major events that the planet can create like earthquakes and volcanoes, the tides and the weather.
Plants and animals (including people) will come and go but the planet will be here for another few billion years yet. When you are my age I will be long gone. I will be returning the chemicals I borrowed from the earth back to the earth.
If you really want to know about the earth you could become a geologist. They study the earth for a living.

I love this planet and I think this mismanagement is horrible, it must stop, it has to.. now you probaly just think the same as nine out of ten people, something like: "Relax, it will be just fine, someone will take care of it.."
I am a fan of Michael Jackson and I love all he did to this planet, how much he loved it in all sort of ways.. like I do.
