Would cheap efficient energy be beneficial for man?

Clearly the believers are against the progress of man, trying to hold them back, working to keep them in the stone age. We already have cheap, clean energy with nuclear power. The fight against nuclear relies on the ignorant to keep this cheap source of power out of the publics hands.

You are talking about folks you never met, aren't you? I've never met Dr Rifkin but Dr Ehrlich tends to use hyperbole to get his point across. If he did not, he would be just one more person telling you the best estimate of what will happen and you would continue to ignore him. At least this way you are paying some attention.

BTW, are you happy to see nuclear power in the hands of North Korea and Iran?

This has been a theme of religious environmentalists going back to Malthus. XFiles spinoff The Lone Gunmen had an episode where someone invented a car that got 100 MPG. They found the car, then destroyed it because to have it be produced would mean suburban sprawl. Environmentalism considers consumerism itself the villain. If wind and solar were cheaper, they would complain that we are interfering with natural ecosystem processes.

Can any one tell me a simple man, if Nuclear energy is so clean, why is there a problem with its waste, and what great mind thought of it before they knew what to do with the waste ?

Ehrlich is a imbecile and it is instructive that alarmists seek to defend his remarks that are proved wrong over and over and over again. It demonstrates that facts and truth aren't a very high priority for them.

That's like saying if every house used only solar, wind, or water to power their homes, the world would explode!! Sounds more like those people are working for the local power companies to keep us paying whatever they say we owe!!

This goes to prove the more educatated someone is. The dumber and more out of touch many become.

Professor Ehrlich is correct. it would accelerate the death of the planet, because their would be no checks and balances. Human nature would destroy us all.

So speaks the idiot child

he is right. any cheap resource is wasted.

Quote by Paul Ehrlich, professor, Stanford University: “Giving society cheap, abundant energy would be the equivalent of giving an idiot child a machine gun.”

Quote by Jeremy Rifkin, Greenhouse Crisis Foundation: “The prospect of cheap fusion energy is the worst thing that could happen to the planet.”

Quote by Paul Ehrlich, professor, Stanford University: "We contend that the position of the nuclear promoters is preposterous beyond the wildest imaginings of most nuclear opponents, primarily because one of the purported “benefits” of nuclear power, the availability of cheap and abundant energy, is in fact a liability."

These three quotes are by the darlings of the Global Warming establishment.
