You guys have it all wrong. The money comes from the U.S. government (and other governments). The government gives literally billions of dollars in grant money to scientists who come up with the results they want (CO2 is a global catastrophe in the making). With these "scientific" findings in hand, they have the excuse to take over the entire energy sector. The can ruin the coal industry, tell you what kind of car to drive and what kind of light bulbs to use, control all energy intensive industries, and funnel untold billions into the pockets of their big donors who have green energy schemes. If a researcher find conclusions which do not support these activities, the funding dries up.

Tom Steyer is spending $100 million this year on political ads against people opposed to the global warming agenda. Michael Mann's lawsuits are being bankrolled by the Climate Science Legal Defense Fund.
Primarily from those of us who have real jobs. I must say that I don't have a problem with those taxpayers who embrace the Man-did-it-Global Warming movement designating their own taxes to support their cause, but I have not approved MY taxes going to it.
But then again.....it may be that the Warmers would not have jobs period...were it not for my taxes being stolen for the cause.
