How do CFC's contribute to the depletion of the ozone layer?

CFC's, or chlorofluorocarbons, are composed of chlorine, oxygen and other substances. The chlorine in this substance is extremely reactive. Under heat and sunlight, a reaction occurs that causes the chlorine to separate, and it moves on to bond to an oxygen atom. The oxygen atom is a component of ozone, or 03, but since the chlorine is so reactive it successfully bonds with that oxygen, and as an oxygen atom is removed o3 becomes O2.

They don't. If they did there would be no ozone over the northern hemisphere where most CFC's were used for many years. BUT that ain't the case.

They don't. This was a lot of hype that mother earth has proven wrong.
