I am 67yrs old and the climate today seems much like it always was, hot and cold, wet and dry sometimes, but on average pretty much the same as it has always been, plus being a sea lover (boating and fishing) I would notice any sea level rise, there is none that I can see.

In 1988 the IP CC was formed to prove Anthropogenic Global Warming. Margaret Thatcher initiated this to give scientists an opportunity to show it. She wanted nuclear energy as the UK's main energy source and didn't want the Oil Cartels nor the Coal Miner's Union to control energy costs plus it gave the environmentalists a strong influence on dictating energy policy. If they could prove it, then she would have leverage for her nuclear energy plan.

A Super El Nino Event propelled an even higher awareness of possible AGW in 1997-1998. The average temperature of the whole Planet rose by 1C in just over 1 year. This was found to be mostly a natural event, but it still gave a stronger foothold to the environmentalist groups.

The IP CC has been run by a known environmentalist and Socialist (Dr Rajendra K Pachauri) since 2002. It's hard to not think that the IP CC is currently biased to the notion that humans are causing the Planet to warm catastrophically.

Current temperatures are well within natural climate variability. Considering the recent Little Ice Age ended around the mid 1800s it's hard to understand that most of the warming since 1880 (0.8C) is anthropogenic or natural. Temperature variations in the past 1200 to 1500 years have been shown to be up to 5C in many places. To say that current warming is "catastrophic" is way off base! A total exaggeration of the facts.

From my point of view, nobody has really advanced anything definitive to disprove the theory of AGW, but there remain so many uncertainties in terms of our impact on climate from timing to outcome that we cannot reach immediate conclusions on what we need to do to solely address a problem of uncertain dimensions. There are individuals and groups on both sides of the issue who stand to benefit from their ideological and financial agendas and that is muddying the debate.

Anyone who claims to know-the outcomes, not the science-with absolute certainty is blowing smoke and not credible, from my point of view. Absolute certainty=denial or alarm, neither of which is productive. Everything in between could be considered skepticism on various levels, provided it is not politically motivated while couched in pseudo scientific terms.

There is a whole money hungry industry behind the global warming hype. The planet has always gone through these cycles. Dont buy into it.

It is a fake debate and it is intended to scare everyone into giving up their money and liberties. They even admit it.

Case in point. The US government has gone into debt that will effect our great grand children. That is real and tangible. Instead of being concerned about that they throw a scare into us about the environment, which mankind has no control of and at best very little influence. Any casual observer can see that there is a sleight of hand here. That sleight of hand is costing you and me liberties and money, exasperating our national debt. It is a pattern that is there for everyone to see, in fact it was forecast years ago.
