Do the 'greenies' really hate human beings?

Posted at: 2015-03-12
Deniailsits like to think so. But, with the exception of a few kooks, most realists want to save human lives and reduce human suffering.

Personally, if I wanted bad things to happen to humans, I'd say just, let Earth warm.

Now Madd Maxx and OM are quoting from a few kooks and talking as if that is how yourself, myself, Hey Dook, Jeff M, Trevor and Chem Flunky talk. They must be taking lessons from Sagebrush.

"Why do I hate people if I think they should have safe water to drink?"

Oh, now we act so innocent. So self righteous. So indignant that some evil person would object to you have safe drinking water. It is called the sleight of hand. In a weepy voice you cry out, "We just want everybody to have safe drinking water." Then when you get full control this happens.

Quote from the UN's Own "Agenda 21": "Effective execution of Agenda 21 will require a profound reorientation of all human society, unlike anything the world has ever experienced a major shift in the priorities of both governments and individuals and an unprecedented redeployment of human and financial resources. This shift will demand that a concern for the environmental consequences of every human action be integrated into individual and collective decision-making at every level."

Then as history shows those who resist re-orientation don't get to drink 'safe water' they are deprived of water, their cloths and all huan basics as they are led out in the desert and shot just like the tyrannical example that we see in ISIS.

Your side has many times clearly stated its intentions. Max has given you many tangible and truthful statements by your fellow greenies and yet you defend these demonic inspired statements.

As to your rebuttal of Maxx's statement, "Maxx, interesting how you quote a dozen of two, and think that what they said applies to all of us. I'm pretty sure I could find a couple dozen AGW deniers that have posted, which, if their thinking applied to all deniers, would surely get them committed to some institution or other."

Yes, those nuts on our side like that are soon committed. But with you greenies, you worship those kind of nuts and make them your leaders.

So in direct answer to your question: Yes you do and some of you are even bold enough to honestly declare your intentions in print and aloud.

Of course not. You will get some that are a little (lets call it short-sighted) and can't see the forest from the trees. I have worked in the environmental sector for many years, and found that (as with most walks of life) you get your extremes. Unfortunately it is the 'extremes' that get the headlines, and tend to make the most noise. Many of my "greenie" friends would sprout about the population issue (and needing to reduce our population to be sustainable etc. etc., or what is Australia's sustainable population). My argument was and still is, it is not the population per se but the actions (or if you prefer inactions) of that population.

It is far better to not 'force' controls on people but to educate and make them reach a decision.

An interesting story by a friend of mine. She was a "greenie" and went down to a protest one day (they were proposing to clear some forest for a sand mine). She arrived to find that the protestors were in a part of the forest that was not to be touched, she told them but was told to be quiet. Because she didn't believe in anarchism, and tried to talk to them about the science she was shunned by the group. They didn't want evidence, they didn't want science, they just wanted to protest for the sake of it. Many she said didn't even understand the basics of why they were there, it was a good 'social' outing for them. This is how 'greenies' get a bad reputation, because it is these people that make the headlines, get the interviews and not people like my friend who had 'idealistic' ideas (but grounded in knowledge NOT ignorance).

I personally have had similar experiences in the forestry industry. I consider myself an environmentalists and unfortunately many of these sorts of protests and spokespersons for the "green" movement do more damage than good (IMO). Look at the Sea Shepherd. They have achieved nothing, however Greenpeace took to marketing and education within Japan and achieved more than all their years trying to 'stop' the boats in a similar vain to Sea Shepherd. A carrot works much better than a stick.

It depends on the "greenie". On both sides you have extremes. The extremes tend to view their stance as more important than anything else. I knwo conservatives who would see an end to welfare altogether. They beleive that while it will cause suffering, the end result would be better. In the same manner you have greenies who promote politcies that would cause much suffering, but they believe the end result would be better.

Unfortunately, the extremes make the most noise and occupy the headlines.

As for you, you seem like a decent person, and while we may disagree on this subject, I do not think this means that you hate people. In fact, I am certain that you think that your stance is best for humanity. While I think that your stance is wrong, this in no way implies that you are immoral.

Looking at your avatar you seem to be interested in hang gliding?

However, don't worry. me and my team of experts are going to make it much safer for you. The world owes us a living because we have such good ideas and are interested in saving lives.

So, our work will be government funded and may well involve international conferences in holiday destinations that we always wanted to go to.

We don't want you falling out of the sky so we will impose an altitude limit. Ten feet should be enough. You could get lost so we will recommend attaching a long rope to your glider so that it can't get lost.

All gliders should be for three people. Pilot, spare pilot and navigator. All personnel will need to wear Kevlar body armour.

All pilots will need to be qualified to fly both piston engined planes and jets just in case you climb into the wrong machine by mistake!

All this will be made law and you won't have any option but to obey. It is for your own good after all!

We are not really all control freaks who do not have a proper job and just want to spoil things for everyone else. We are about saving lives, increasing safety making sure that no-one falls out of the sky on to a polar bear or a puppy or, God forbid, a child.

What is not to like?

Yes, because their ringleaders in the Bilderburg Council of the Federal Roman Reserve Masonist Conspiracy Protocol Elders are actual interstellar Reptilians who have invented science in order to carbon tax us all and impurify our precious bodily fluids. The only remedy is to hate science relentlessly and post at least 10 questions here per day recycled from Wattsup. But it is hard because the Greenie Meanies run YA too. Al Gore's Seeing Eye is everywhere and the plot to promote literacy and rationality globally using Satanic Logos is powered by 5th dimension holograms beamed from the Hollow Moon.

Well humans are extreme beings, they tend to go overboard in one way or another, and there is no doubt that many greens have become more extreme and less rational, everybody wants safe clean water, not just greenies, however when penguins and polar bears are considered more important than starving African children, then I begin to worry.

Your examples are benign. We all want that. However, when I hear quotes like "Earth has a cancer and the cancer is man.", it's hard to escape that conclusion for some greenies.

BTW, the Nazis were trying to make life better for Germans (or aryans to be more specific). Chew on that for a minute.

Mike "when I hear quotes like "Earth has a cancer and the cancer is man.",

And how many times have you heard that from otherwise rational people.

Think about how you'd be cataloged if we painted you with some of the less rational deniers here.

"BTW, the Nazis were trying to make life better for Germans (or aryans to be more specific). Chew on that for a minute."

Okay. That would have been reasonable from their jaded point of view.

One hopes that you're not assigning their ideology to those of us worried about global warming.

graphicconception: "Looking at your avatar you seem to be interested in hang gliding?"

I am.

people are the most vital asset to planet earth there is pleanty of room for all of us at the end of the day recycling is possible and we do not need to litter u can use all the energy and electricity you want its your money my goal as a greenie is to let people use all the electricity they want without it effecting the environment I WANT TO BE ABLE TO SKI SOME FEEL THIS MAY NOT BE POSSIBLE IN 75 YEARS PEOPLE ARE MORE IMPORTANT THAN THE ENVIRONMENT

How often have we seen this same question posted?

How often have we seen the sentiment in answers?

Why do I hate people if I think they should have safe water to drink?

Why do I hate people if I think the air shouldn't look like Beijing?

OR, have some folks got no rational argument on their side, and so complain about those who are trying to improve the human condition?

-- Sounds like they want us all dead, except for themselves of course --

We have wished, we ecofreaks, for a disaster or for a social change to come and bomb us into Stone Age, where we might live like Indians in our valley, with our localism, our appropriate technology, our gardens, our homemade religion―guilt-free at last!

―Stewart Brand (writing in the Whole Earth Catalogue).

We must make this an insecure and inhospitable place for capitalists and their projects…. We must reclaim the roads and plowed land, halt dam construction, tear down existing dams, free shackled rivers and return to wilderness millions of tens of millions of acres of presently settled land.

Human beings, as a species, have no more value than slugs.

The extinction of the human species may not only be inevitable but a good thing….This is not to say that the rise of human civilization is insignificant, but there is no way of showing that it will be much help to the world in the long run.

If radical environmentalists were to invent a disease to bring human populations back to sanity, it would probably be something like AIDS

Human happiness, and certainly human fecundity, is not as important as a wild and healthy planets…Some of us can only hope for the right virus to come along.

The collective needs of non-human species must take precedence over the needs and desires of humans.

―Dr. Reed F. Noss, The Wildlands Project

If I were reincarnated, I would wish to be returned to Earth as a killer virus to lower human population levels.

―Prince Phillip, World Wildlife Fund

We, in the green movement, aspire to a cultural model in which killing a forest will be considered more contemptible and more criminal than the sale of 6-year-old children to Asian brothels.

―Carl Amery

To feed a starving child is to exacerbate the world population problem.

linlyons I hope the statements posted above do not represent your feelings. Good for you if you think they are evil and misguided because they are. But by clinging to the man-made Global Warming scam you surely give these people a lot of your support. Maybe it's time for you to re-evaluate just exactly what it is that you are supporting. (ha... like that would ever happen --- I won't hold my breath)

And I doubt you could find any statements by skeptics that approach the disregard for human life expressed by the Greenies above.

Dook - I can see that Billy had a real impact on you.

Gee OM I guess since Nazis were trying to make life better for Germans that means that 'greenies' are evil communists who want to take over your life right?

100 years ago today the last passenger pigeon died making the species extinct. you can see it a Smithsonian museum today

they are liberals, so yes
