Because most of them don't check, well, *any* of the claims they make. They just regurgitate whatever they're told from a source they (without due cause) trust.

Really though, the question of warming/no warming is a side show. The important fact is that the earth is not warming nearly as rapidly as all the models predicted. It is clear that, at least over the last 14 years, that the climate sensitivity is much lower than the consensus estimate.

I'm just teasing. I know it must be hard to admit that skeptics are right and that CAGW has been highly exaggerated by alarmists. Your first inclination is to say "There is no pause you stupid denier". Of course when faced with REALITY and the FACT (two things alarmists hate the most) that temps are not rising nearly as fast as predicted the alarmists had to come up with theories on why the pause, which they said was not occurring, was in fact occurring. Faced with not wanting to admit that skeptics were right about the pause, but also aware that most climatologists acknowledge that there is a pause, the argument melded into..."There is NO pause, and we can explain whey there IS a pause." Honestly it is rather amusing to skeptics to know the mental anguish that most alarmists must be going through, wishing that the skeptics were wrong but also having to reluctantly acknowledge reality as well.
Anyways, I love the "There is NO pause and here is what is causing the pause." questions. It shows how delusional alarmists are.
