Better than putting all their rubbish in land fill sites that give off really bad smells due to the gases produced and there's only a certain amount of substances we'll run out of oil and iron etc eventually so might aswell recycle what we can
Yes, it does help, but most people recycle because it keeps their municipal refuse fees from increasing as rapidly as they might if nobody recycled.
