Why is global warming such a political subject?

Why is it political? Because there's money involved.

Money to be made selling coal, oil, and gas.

Money to be recovered developing coal, oil, and gas.

And money to be paid if we're ever to avoid warming that's likely not good.

Whenever there's a lot of money involved, there'll be politics.

Politics protecting profits.

Politics protecting the people from excesses of those making those profits.

This is the most difficult kind of problem to be faced.

There's lots of money available to politicians if we continue to burn fossil fuel.

There's no money available to protect the environment at some time in the future.

It has to be a moral decision.

And, unfortunately, morality is sadly lacking in the country today.

Because if there is a big push by the public to curb any sort of pollution caused by any number of things, many people see the easiest option is to push the government to insitute laws which force people and companies to change how they act. It is a political issue because it is an issue that people argue about on whether or not that is the best option, and anything that large groups of people contend about will become political because it can help officials get elected if they side with the larger group.

Climate change is a big, costly thing. It isn't a sudden thing, but a long term thing. Climate change requires a lot of money to stop and fix, and the benefits don't come immediately.

-Change of any kind is unpopular for most people.

-It costs a lot of money, and the private sector has no desire to fix it. That leaves the government.

-Issues arising from climate change happen down the road. Its easy to kick the can down the road. (just like the US's debt issue)

-Some climate changes will help people out, others will harm people. Its easy to ignore the problems of others 4000 miles away.

I dont see it as a political subject, and its sad to see it portrayed as it is. Human civilization is not sustainable for the long term with our current ways. Its so much easier to fix or stop an issue in advance, but it requires an investment for the future, not present.

Because big oil equals big money, and the Citizens United decision means that politicians have to raise lots of money for their campaigns. The sun and wind are free and belong to all of us, which is very threatening to those who own property with oil reserves, like the Koch brothers. For more info, see citizensclimatelobby.org.

The politics of Global Warming are complex due to numerous factors that arise of their industrial development they should be subject to such commitments.

The science should be apolitical, it is just science. But the effects and solutions are economic and political.

So some politicians and industries use propaganda to cast doubt on the science.

Because they are afraid that stopping global warming would mean that they would not be able to drive or to heat and light their homes. But all these things can be done with clean energy sources, such as solar, hydro and nuclear power.

By the way, I am Climate Realist. Al Gore, Madd Maxx, Rothchilds candy, the Illuminati and the moon based reptilians sent me to be with Billy.

Because global warming can be anything you want it to be; too cold, too hot, hurricanes, tornadoes, torrential rain, massive snow storms, polar vortex, and etc. All of which we have seen before.
